Funded by  the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, SDC

CEP convened its second Partnership Round Table: A Funding Forum, on January 28, 2010 at the Mövenpick Hotel to which current and potential partners, interested in improving the employment situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, were invited.

Committee members took turns to explain how trough research, debate and communications, CEP seeks to establish that Palestinian refugee employment in Lebanon is a Win-Win Scenario – one that can only translate into gains all round.

The Ambassador of Switzerland Mr. François Barras, representing The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, launch funder of CEP, expressed his support for the CEP pointing out to the progress that was realized over the last three years by CEP.

The Norwegian Ambassador to Lebanon Ms. Aud Lise Norheim intervened during the meeting to state that, in line with Norway's support of Palestinian humanitarian needs, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue its support to the VET Project (funded Phase 1 titled "Mapping Vocational and Educational Training (VET) Providers to Palestinian refugees in Lebanon") and will support VET Phase 2 titled “Matching and Adapting Vocational Education and Training to Market Needs”.

In view of the fact that the private sector is a major stakeholder in the employment of Palestinian refugees, the CEP Chair announced at the Roundtable meeting the expansion of the Committee’s membership to include a valued representative of the private sector, Mr. Fouad Bawarshi, as a member of CEP.
