ILO-CEP Seminar on “Social Security as a Human Right: What Options for Palestinian Refugees Living in Lebanon?”

Funded by  the European Union

The Regional Office for Arab States of the International Labour Organization and the Committee for Employment of Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon (CEP) organized a Seminar on “Social Security as a Human Right: What Options for Palestinian Refugees Living in Lebanon” on June 1, 2011 at the Hotel Holiday Inn – Dunes, Verdun.

This initiative – which falls within the framework of the EU-funded project “Improving access to employment and social protection for Palestinian refugees living in Lebanon” – aimed at discussing and reviewing the issue of social security to Palestinian refugees and propose policy options that can set the basis for a social protection strategy for Palestinian workers and their families. It brought together experts and key players in the field of social protection including representatives of government institutions, international organizations, the Lebanese and Palestinian civil societies, professional syndicates and the private sector.
